Project Planner – Integrated Ticketing Programme 📍 Greater Manchester (Hybrid) 💷 £450–£550 per day (Inside IR35) We’re looking for an experienced Project Planner to join a high-profile programme delivering a next-generation integrated ticketing solution across Greater Manchester. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a large-scale transformation impacting millions of public transport users.
You’ll play a key role in driving programme success by developing and managing an integrated schedule across multiple work streams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
The Role
As Project Planner, you will:
- Develop and maintain the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)
- Manage milestones, dependencies, and critical path activities
- Coordinate across internal teams, suppliers, and delivery partners
- Monitor progress and produce clear, insightful reporting and dashboards
- Identify risks, assess impacts, and support contingency planning
- Support planning across key phases, including testing, deployment, and go-live
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Proven experience planning complex, large-scale programmes
- Strong expertise in integrated scheduling and dependency management
- Experience working with multiple suppliers and stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, and reporting tools
- Solid understanding of project delivery methodologies (Agile/Waterfall/Hybrid)
Desirable:
- Experience in transport, ticketing, or payment systems
- Knowledge of contactless, smartcard, or mobile ticketing solutions
Key Skills
- Critical Path Analysis (CPM)
- Risk and dependency management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication
- Ability to influence and work collaboratively across teams
