A leading international financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Financial Crime Transaction Monitoring Platform IT Owner (VP) to lead the strategic ownership, development and evolution of its transaction monitoring platform across the EMEA region.

This is a senior technology leadership position responsible for the end-to-end ownership of a critical Financial Crime platform, ensuring it remains resilient, scalable and aligned with regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will drive platform strategy, oversee technical delivery, manage key stakeholders and vendors, and lead continuous improvements across the application landscape.

Working closely with Compliance, Operations, Technology and global teams, you will play a key role in enhancing financial crime capabilities while supporting large-scale technology transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end technology lifecycle of the Financial Crime Transaction Monitoring platform across EMEA.
  • Define and deliver the platform strategy, roadmap and architectural direction.
  • Lead the delivery of major enhancements, upgrades, integrations and new functionality.
  • Oversee solution design, development, testing, deployment and ongoing platform support.
  • Partner with Compliance, Operations and Technology teams to gather requirements and prioritise strategic initiatives.
  • Drive platform stability, performance, governance and operational excellence.
  • Lead root cause analysis of application and data issues, implementing long-term improvements.
  • Establish governance frameworks, operational standards and quality controls across the platform.
  • Manage third-party vendors and technology partners.
  • Work closely with global teams to align regional solutions with enterprise standards and best practices.
  • Represent the technology function within governance forums, audits and regulatory initiatives.
  • Mentor technical team members and promote continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

Required Experience

  • Proven experience owning or leading enterprise Transaction Monitoring or Financial Crime technology platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with Financial Crime transaction monitoring applications, with exposure to platforms such as NICE Actimize SAM being highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of data warehouse environments and enterprise data architectures.
  • Experience working with ETL processes, SQL and large-scale data analysis.
  • Strong Linux administration and scripting knowledge.
  • Experience leading technical teams delivering application enhancements, upgrades and strategic change programmes.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across Technology, Compliance, Operations and business functions.
  • Experience managing technology vendors and third-party software solutions.
  • Previous experience within financial services, banking or regulated environments.

Desirable Skills

  • NICE Actimize experience.
  • Financial Crime or Anti-Money Laundering (AML) technology expertise.
  • Knowledge of enterprise application architecture and integration patterns.
  • Experience delivering technology solutions supporting regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with ITIL, Agile delivery methodologies or project management frameworks.
  • Professional certifications such as CAMS, PMP or ITIL are advantageous.
