Technology Supplier Governance Manager

An opportunity for an experienced technology supplier governance professional to join a central technology function supporting vendor management, commercial oversight and supplier performance governance.This role focuses on strengthening governance practices across a complex technology supplier ecosystem, strategic vendor relationships, commercial frameworks, operational resilience and service performance.

Key Responsibilities

Supplier Governance

  • Support the development of supplier governance frameworks across strategic technology vendors and service providers.
  • Help drive sourcing approaches that reduce supplier dependency, minimise vendor lock-in, and support operational resilience.
  • Establish appropriate supplier tiering, governance models, and engagement structures across the technology estate.
  • Partner with Procurement and Legal teams on contract structures, supplier negotiations, commercial governance, and SLA alignment.

Commercial & Financial Oversight

  • Maintain visibility of technology supplier spend, consumption trends, and key cost drivers.
  • Support governance of renewals, commercial change requests, rate cards, and invoice validation processes.
  • Assist with financial reporting, supplier performance analysis, and commercial decision support.

Performance Governance & Service Assurance

  • Support enterprise-wide supplier performance governance across multiple technology vendors.
  • Monitor SLA performance, incident trends, service quality, and supplier delivery against agreed commitments.
  • Drive supplier improvement initiatives and ensure remediation plans are tracked through to completion.
  • Provide oversight of operational service reviews and escalate systemic risks or recurring issues where appropriate.

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Build effective working relationships with key technology suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Act as a coordination point for supplier escalations, governance discussions, and strategic alignment activities.
  • Support executive-level reporting and governance forums relating to supplier performance and risk.

Risk, Compliance & Operational Resilience

  • Support supplier remediation activities across cybersecurity, resilience, continuity, and regulatory risk areas.
  • Work with Risk, Security, and Legal teams to ensure supplier controls and contractual obligations remain aligned to policy and regulatory expectations.
  • Contribute to supplier onboarding, transition, and exit planning activities to ensure operational continuity.

Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain supplier improvement backlogs and support service enhancement initiatives.
  • Use SLA trends, risk data, heatmaps, and performance insights to drive governance decisions and supplier maturity improvements.
  • Provide reporting and strategic insight to support technology leadership decision-making.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Experience within supplier management, vendor governance, IT commercial management, or technology service governance environments.
  • Strong understanding of technology operating models, outsourcing, managed services, and multi-vendor ecosystems.
  • Ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and influence outcomes across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience supporting contracts, SLAs, renewals, and supplier performance management.
  • Understanding of operational resilience, technology risk, cybersecurity considerations, and regulatory governance.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills.

Preferred Background

  • Experience within financial services or other highly regulated environments.
  • Exposure to ITIL, SIAM, or enterprise service management frameworks.
  • Familiarity with supplier lifecycle management, service transitions, and technology portfolio governance.
  • Understanding of enterprise technology environments, infrastructure services, or large-scale IT operations.
