Lead AI & Data Analyst

We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Senior Lead Data Analyst to play a pivotal role within our Data Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the delivery of high-quality analytics, drive data-driven decision-making, and help shape the future of advanced analytics across the organisation.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for generating and delivering meaningful business insights to both internal and external stakeholders. You will combine strong technical expertise with leadership capabilities, mentoring analysts and championing best practices in analytics, data governance, and self-service reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of analytical solutions that provide accurate, relevant, and actionable business insights.
• Apply a range of analytical techniques, from descriptive reporting through to advanced predictive and machine learning models.
• Coach and develop Data Analysts, enhancing both technical and professional capabilities in partnership with the Team Manager.
• Support the management and prioritisation of the analytics delivery pipeline, working closely with Product Owners, the Head of Data Services Delivery, and wider business stakeholders.
• Translate complex datasets and analytical findings into clear, compelling narratives and recommendations for senior management and business teams.
• Contribute to the development of an enterprise-wide self-service analytics capability, promoting best practices in tools, methodologies, and data governance.
• Mentor team members in advanced analytics techniques, including:
• Predictive modelling
• Supervised machine learning
• Customer segmentation
• Scenario simulation and forecasting
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to identify opportunities where advanced analytics can drive business value.
• Stay informed about emerging developments in AI, machine learning, and data science, helping to evaluate and implement innovative solutions where appropriate.

About You

You are an experienced analytics professional with a proven track record of leading technical delivery and developing high-performing teams. You are equally comfortable working with complex datasets as you are presenting strategic insights to senior stakeholders.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Significant experience in a Senior or Lead Data Analyst role with responsibility for technical delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop analysts.
• Strong SQL skills with experience querying, extracting, and analysing large, complex datasets.
• Proficiency in Python and advanced analytical techniques including classification, regression, and clustering.
• Expertise in Microsoft Power BI, DAX, or equivalent business intelligence tools.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Strong strategic thinking and commercial awareness.
• Self-motivated with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
