Senior Azure Data Engineer
Senior Azure Data Engineer 6 months Outside IR35 Remote (UK based applicants only) Contract Senior Azure Data Engineer required help my client move their data warehouse from on-premise SQL Server into Azure. This is a hands-on technical role focused entirely on migrating data safely, cleaning it up, and making sure our reports keep working smoothly.
Responsibilities:
- Move data from legacy SQL Server environments into the Azure cloud.
- Build data pipelines to extract, load, and clean data efficiently.
- Write and fix code, specifically high-performance SQL and T-SQL stored procedures.
- Schedule and automate jobs using SSIS, SQL Agent, and Azure Data Factory.
- Manage code versions properly using Git and GitHub.
- Check data quality so that final reporting models work perfectly in Tableau and Power BI.
Skills Required:
- Excellent SQL and T-SQL writing skills.
- Solid experience with both Azure and SQL Server.
- Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and writing complex stored procedures.
- SSIS, SQL Agent, and Azure Data Factory (ADF).
- Comfortable working with Git and GitHub.
- A good understanding of how data structures feed into Tableau and Power BI.
