Fabric Data Engineer

Fabric Data Engineer Contract Length: 6 Months Rate: £500 per day - Outside IR35 Location: Fully Remote (UK-based) Interviews calls late this / early next week. Start Date: Late July 2026

We are seeking an experienced Fabric Data Engineer for a 6-month contract split into two core delivery phases. You will own the data schema design, migration strategy, and pipeline transformations to shift our data infrastructure into Microsoft Fabric.

Key Deliverables

Phase 1: Data Modeling
• Objective: Turn Purchase Order data into a consumable model in the Gold layer for business consumption.
• Collaboration: Partner with the internal Product Owner and liaise directly with the vendor.
• Tasks: Analyze the existing staged and cleansed Silver layer data, design a new schema, and transform pipelines to align with business requirements.

Phase 2: Legacy Azure SQL Migration & Ingestion
• Objective: Enable our offshore BI team to migrate completely away from a legacy Azure SQL database.
• Scope: Build target Fabric models for three core enterprise systems: ERP, ~100 tables), Dynamics CRM (~58 tables), and Business Central (Financials, ~20 tables).
• Tasks: Ingest the blank-canvas Dynamics CRM data, build pipelines for the already incrementally loaded bronze data (Business Central and Elemos), and structure models so development team can seamlessly build reports.

Required Skills & Experience
• Microsoft Fabric: Deep knowledge of Medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) and Fabric modelling.
• Data Engineering: Proven experience building incremental pipelines and schema designs.
• System Integration: Exposure to ERP/CRM systems (Dynamics CRM, Business Central,
• Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Confident communicating with external software vendors and managing offshore developer handovers
