Indirect Tax Assistant Manager & Manager

Our client is seeking an Indirect Tax Assistant Manager & Manager to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide indirect tax advice to a broad range of clients, helping them achieve their commercial objectives. You will be part of a practice that provides advice and support in all aspects of Indirect Tax (VAT, Customs Duty, Green taxes) to a variety of business sectors including large multi-nationals, household name retailers and public sector organisations.

What you'll do:

As an Indirect Tax Assistant Manager & Manager, you will play a key role in providing comprehensive indirect tax advice to our diverse clientele. Your responsibilities will include supporting senior team members in delivering client projects, maintaining regular contact with clients, and assisting in business development initiatives. You will also have the opportunity to mentor Tax Assistants within the team and identify opportunities for technological advancements in compliance and advisory projects.

• Provide indirect tax and advisory compliance services to a range of clients
• Support senior members of the team in the delivery of client projects
• Maintain day-to-day contact with clients and develop long-lasting, positive relationships
• Assist senior members of the team in business development initiatives
• Work with and develop Tax Assistants within the team
• Identify opportunities to implement and develop technology solutions for compliance and advisory projects

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Indirect Tax Assistant Manager & Manager position will bring a wealth of experience in indirect taxes, along with ACA, CTA or Qualified Solicitor qualifications. You should possess existing VAT or Customs knowledge or skills that can be easily transferred. A commitment to further developing your indirect tax knowledge/skills is essential. Additionally, you should be eager to expand your skill set into areas such as communication, networking, and business development. Effective oral and written communication skills are crucial for this role, as well as the ability to manage and prioritise work effectively.

• ACA, CTA or Qualified Solicitor and/or relevant experience (at least 5 years) with Indirect Taxes
• Existing VAT or Customs knowledge or skills that can be transferred easily
• A commitment to develop existing Indirect Tax knowledge/skills
• An eagerness to develop wider skills e.g., communication, networking, business development
• The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• An ability to manage and prioritise work
