Save job

This is an opportunity to join a globally recognised insurance business with a collaborative culture and a strong commitment to professional development. The organisation offers a flexible working environment, exposure to international operations and the chance to contribute to the ongoing evolution of a sophisticated tax function.

A leading international financial services group is seeking an experienced Tax Compliance & Reporting Manager to join its EMEA tax team. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional with strong compliance and reporting expertise to take ownership of corporate tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions while supporting financial reporting and tax provision processes.

Reporting to the Head of Tax Compliance & Reporting, you will play a key role in delivering tax compliance and reporting obligations across the EMEA region, with a particular focus on UK and EU direct taxes. This is a hands-on position offering significant exposure to senior stakeholders across finance, tax and business functions internationally.

The successful candidate will ideally come from the insurance sector and have experience of working with Lloyd's of London syndicates, although candidates from broader financial services backgrounds will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation, review and submission of corporation tax returns, Lloyd's returns, statutory tax filings and disclosures across EMEA, with a focus on UK and European entities.
  • Prepare and review tax computations, calculations and reconciliations between statutory accounts and tax positions, ensuring compliance with local regulations and group policies.
  • Support the US GAAP tax provision process, including tax reporting, deferred tax calculations, book-to-tax adjustments and associated disclosures.
  • Maintain and enhance tax reporting, reconciliation and control frameworks across tax, statutory and management reporting processes.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to increase efficiency, strengthen controls and improve the quality of tax compliance processes.
  • Assess and implement technology and automation solutions, including AI-enabled tools, to enhance tax reporting and compliance activities.
  • Provide technical support on UK and European corporate tax matters, transactions and tax risk assessments.
  • Manage relationships with external advisers, reviewing deliverables and ensuring high-quality support across compliance, advisory and audit matters.
  • Support tax authority enquiries and audits, preparing documentation and coordinating responses with advisers and internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare management reporting on tax compliance, risks, exposures and opportunities for senior tax and finance leadership.

Stakeholder Management

  • Develop strong relationships across Finance, Tax and wider business functions.
  • Support tax awareness and training initiatives across the organisation.
  • Assist in managing relationships with UK and European tax authorities.
  • Support the management and resolution of tax audits, enquiries and compliance matters.

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified tax professional (ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent).
  • Strong corporate tax compliance and reporting experience.
  • Experience working within insurance, financial services or another complex multinational environment.
  • Exposure to Lloyd's market taxation and syndicate compliance would be highly advantageous.
  • Knowledge of UK and European corporate tax legislation.
  • Experience supporting US GAAP tax reporting and provisions.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to improve processes, implement controls and leverage technology to increase efficiency.
