An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Contracts Manager to join a prestigious, globally recognised law firm in London. This role offers you the chance to play a pivotal part in shaping and delivering the contractual framework that underpins the firm's procurement of third-party suppliers across the UK.

You will be at the heart of critical transactions, collaborating with talented professionals from diverse backgrounds and supporting business operations that span multiple continents. The firm is renowned for its collaborative culture, commitment to professional development, and flexible approach to working patterns, ensuring you can thrive both personally and professionally. If you are passionate about contract management, eager to work within a supportive environment, and ready to make a tangible impact on high-profile projects, this is your moment to shine.

  • Join an international legal powerhouse with a rich history and presence in major commercial centres worldwide, offering exposure to complex and high-value contracts.
  • Benefit from flexible working arrangements, including hybrid office attendance and openness to discussing alternative patterns that suit your lifestyle.
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders across legal, information security, data privacy, and procurement teams, gaining invaluable experience in a truly global matrix organisation.

What you'll do:

  • Reviewing and negotiating supplier agreements covering software licensing, SaaS, IT services, professional services, and outsourcing contracts to ensure alignment with organisational objectives.
  • Collaborating extensively with internal stakeholders to understand key requirements and timelines for implementing, renewing, or terminating supplier agreements.
  • Working closely with Information Security and Data Privacy teams to ensure technology contracts address all aspects of data protection, security obligations, intellectual property rights, and service level expectations.
  • Evaluating technology vendor agreements by balancing risk appetite with operational needs while ensuring compliance with relevant legal frameworks.
  • Demonstrating awareness of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) vendor agreements by identifying associated risks such as data training obligations and regulatory requirements.
  • Advising internal stakeholders on proposed contract terms and highlighting potential risks in clear and accessible language.
  • Providing guidance on best practices for supplier due diligence processes and maintaining up-to-date questionnaires for ongoing compliance.
  • Managing and developing the bespoke contract management system to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency across the procurement lifecycle.
  • Building strong relationships with regional teams to ensure consistent implementation of global contract frameworks while accommodating local requirements.
  • Supporting training programmes related to procurement systems and promoting effective use of contract management tools throughout the organisation.

What you bring:

  • Significant experience in contract management or commercial procurement within a global or multinational organisation is essential for success in this role.
  • A law degree from the UK or Commonwealth equivalent is required to demonstrate your foundational legal knowledge.
  • Proven drafting and negotiation skills across a wide range of commercial contract types are necessary for handling complex supplier agreements.
  • A sound understanding of relevant legal and regulatory frameworks including GDPR, data processing agreements, anti-bribery measures, and sustainability is vital for ensuring compliance.
  • Excellent stakeholder management abilities combined with strong communication and influencing skills are needed for effective collaboration across departments.
  • A high degree of commercial acumen paired with acute risk awareness enables you to balance operational needs against potential exposures.
  • Proficiency in using contract management systems and procurement tools is expected for efficient workflow administration.
  • Familiarity with agile or technology-led project delivery environments is desirable for adapting to modern contracting challenges.
  • Experience in data protection law would be advantageous when addressing privacy concerns within technology contracts.
  • Exposure to AI-enabled tools or platforms including knowledge of associated risks such as intellectual property considerations is highly valued.
