What you'll do:
- Reviewing and negotiating supplier agreements covering software licensing, SaaS, IT services, professional services, and outsourcing contracts to ensure alignment with organisational objectives.
- Collaborating extensively with internal stakeholders to understand key requirements and timelines for implementing, renewing, or terminating supplier agreements.
- Working closely with Information Security and Data Privacy teams to ensure technology contracts address all aspects of data protection, security obligations, intellectual property rights, and service level expectations.
- Evaluating technology vendor agreements by balancing risk appetite with operational needs while ensuring compliance with relevant legal frameworks.
- Demonstrating awareness of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) vendor agreements by identifying associated risks such as data training obligations and regulatory requirements.
- Advising internal stakeholders on proposed contract terms and highlighting potential risks in clear and accessible language.
- Providing guidance on best practices for supplier due diligence processes and maintaining up-to-date questionnaires for ongoing compliance.
- Managing and developing the bespoke contract management system to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency across the procurement lifecycle.
- Building strong relationships with regional teams to ensure consistent implementation of global contract frameworks while accommodating local requirements.
- Supporting training programmes related to procurement systems and promoting effective use of contract management tools throughout the organisation.
What you bring:
- Significant experience in contract management or commercial procurement within a global or multinational organisation is essential for success in this role.
- A law degree from the UK or Commonwealth equivalent is required to demonstrate your foundational legal knowledge.
- Proven drafting and negotiation skills across a wide range of commercial contract types are necessary for handling complex supplier agreements.
- A sound understanding of relevant legal and regulatory frameworks including GDPR, data processing agreements, anti-bribery measures, and sustainability is vital for ensuring compliance.
- Excellent stakeholder management abilities combined with strong communication and influencing skills are needed for effective collaboration across departments.
