Robert Walters is partnering with an established Food & Beverage business in London to recruit an Inventory & Stock Controller. This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, coordinating purchasing activities, and ensuring stock availability across the operation.
Working closely with kitchen, operations, and suppliers, you will play a key role in controlling stock movements, supporting purchasing processes, and driving inventory accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure all stock transactions are recorded correctly within the ERP system.
- Monitor stock levels and proactively manage replenishment requirements to avoid shortages and overstocking.
- Raise and process purchase orders in line with approved purchasing requirements.
- Liaise with suppliers to place orders, track deliveries, and resolve any discrepancies.
- Verify goods received against purchase orders and supplier documentation.
- Process goods receipts and maintain accurate stock records.
- Manage inventory movements, including transfers, returns, adjustments, and stock issues.
- Conduct regular stock counts and cycle counts, reconciling system stock against physical inventory.
- Investigate inventory variances and implement corrective actions where required.
- Monitor damaged, expired, and obsolete stock, supporting waste reduction initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with internal stock control procedures and inventory management best practices.
Requirements
- Previous experience in inventory control, purchasing, or stock management within a Food & Beverage, Hospitality, Retail, or FMCG environment.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and purchasing processes.
- Experience using ERP, inventory, or stock management systems.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
