Interim Operations Director

We are seeking an accomplished Interim Operations Director to lead the operational transformation of a complex, multi-site service organisation. This is a high-impact leadership assignment requiring an experienced individual who can quickly assess the business, take ownership of day-to-day operations and deliver a significant improvement in operational and financial performance.

Working closely with the shareholders, you will take executive responsibility for the operation, with a particular focus on:

• Strengthening the leadership and management structure.
• Improving operational performance, productivity and accountability.
• Optimising workforce and fleet utilisation across a complex operating environment.
• Identifying and addressing areas of operational and financial underperformance.
• Driving integration and efficiency following recent business growth.
• Establishing clear performance measures and management disciplines.
• Delivering a material and sustainable improvement in EBITDA.
• Building an operating model and leadership structure capable of supporting the next stage of the organisation’s development.

This role requires a proven senior operational leader with a track record of running and transforming complex, labour-intensive, fleet-heavy businesses, ideally within a 24/7 operating environment.

We are particularly interested in executives from sectors such as transport, logistics, automotive, roadside services, waste, distribution, field services or comparable operationally complex environments.

You will bring:

• Significant COO, Operations Director or equivalent leadership experience.
• A proven track record of turnaround, transformation and operational improvement.
• Experience leading sizeable, geographically dispersed workforces and fleet-based operations.
• Strong commercial judgement and substantial P&L responsibility.
• Evidence of delivering measurable improvements to profitability, productivity and operational performance.
• The credibility and resilience to challenge established practices and drive meaningful change.
• A highly commercial, decisive and hands-on leadership style.
