Founded by Alex Taylor, Director and Head of BI, Data & Analytics in Robert Walters’ Manchester Technology team, PBIMCR has been instrumental in cultivating a vibrant community of BI enthusiasts and experts for over 7 years.
Since its formation, technology recruitment firm Robert Walters has proudly sponsored and hosted PBIMCR events, giving a space where tech enthusiasts of all levels can network, collaborate and learn from industry experts. The group’s regular events and meetups range from Lunch and Learn sessions to talks from expert speakers.
“We had our first PBIMCR event back in January 2017. There were over 100 attendees squeezed into a small venue – the appetite for more was brilliant.” shared Alex.
“I’d been wanting to set up a North West Data User Group for a while, and back in last 2016 I heard about a very popular London PUG (Progress User Group). So, I mirrored how they’d been set up - and the PBIMCR was born.”
One of the most memorable events for Alex was the SQLBITs x Power BI Manchester Special in 2019.
“We hosted over 150 attendees at KPMG's office for a Q&A special with a panel of PBI experts: Guy in A Cube's Adam Saxton & Patrick LeBlanc, Marco Russo, Alberto Ferrari, Prathy Kamasani, Chris Webb, Angela Henry and Christian Wade."
