An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Procurement and Supply Chain Manager to join a well-established manufacturing organisation based in Wirral, renowned for its expertise in producing products for a diverse range of sectors including personal care, healthcare, veterinary, household, automotive, and technical markets.

What You'll Do:

As Procurement and Supply Chain Manager you will be entrusted with full responsibility for orchestrating the entire supply chain operation from procurement through to delivery. Your day-to-day activities will involve:

  • Overseeing the entire end-to-end supply chain process encompassing procurement activities, planning functions, inventory management protocols, logistics coordination, and supplier performance monitoring to ensure optimal operational flow.
  • Monitoring raw material and component inventories closely to support production schedules.
  • Developing and implementing robust procurement strategies that are fully aligned with overarching business objectives.
  • Leading a high-performing procurement and supply chain team.
  • Managing supplier relationships proactively to enhance both operational efficiency and strategic value creation throughout the supply chain network.
  • Implementing refined sourcing processes alongside supplier management protocols with particular focus on risk mitigation strategies.

Please note this is a fully on-site role but you get to enjoy finishing at lunch time every Friday.

What You Bring:

The ideal candidate for the Procurement and Supply Chain Manager position brings substantial experience gained from senior roles overseeing complex supply chains within manufacturing or similar sectors. Your background demonstrates:

  • Proven experience in senior-level procurement or supply chain management roles within manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and develop high-performing teams.
  • Expert proficiency with ERP systems, preferably SAGE.
  • Comprehensive experience managing the full sourcing lifecycle from initial market analysis through supplier evaluation stages onto negotiation and ongoing performance monitoring is expected.
  • CIPS qualification (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply).
  • Ability to commute reliably each day given the onsite nature of the position is required; flexibility regarding occasional international travel would be advantageous.
