QC Analyst
QC Analyst Trafford, Greater Manchester £39,642
We're partnering with a well-established speciality chemical manufacturer to recruit a QC Analyst to join their quality team at their Greater Manchester site. This is an excellent opportunity for an Analyst with a strong scientific background who has gained hands-on experience over the last 12 months, who is looking to develop their career within a stable manufacturing environment that offers structured training and genuine progression.
The Role
As a QC Analyst, you'll play a key role in supporting manufacturing operations by carrying out analytical testing on raw materials, intermediates and finished products, ensuring all products meet the required quality standards before release.
Working within an ISO-accredited laboratory, you'll use a range of analytical techniques while collaborating closely with Production, Operations and Technical teams to ensure efficient plant performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse raw materials, in-process samples and finished products.
- Perform testing using analytical equipment including GC, HPLC and XRF.
- Record and communicate analytical results accurately.
- Support the calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Investigate quality issues and assist with continuous improvement activities.
- Work closely with Production, Operations and Tanker Drivers to ensure smooth plant operations.
- Ensure compliance with quality, environmental and health & safety standards.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- A degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
- Previous experience in a QC Analyst, Quality Analyst or similar laboratory-based role.
- Experience working with analytical instrumentation such as GC, HPLC or XRF.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A methodical approach with strong attention to detail.
- Experience working within ISO 9001 environments is highly desirable, with knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 also advantageous.
Salary & Benefits
- Level 1 Salary: £39,642
- Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm
- Structured training programme with progression to Level 2 (typically within six months)
- Level 2 Salary: £41,792
- Additional £4,923 disturbance allowance when providing operational cover
- Level 2 working pattern: 8:00am-8:00pm, 4 on / 4 off (days only, no nights)
