Legal Counsel - Housing

Are you a qualified solicitor with expertise in housing management and litigation? We are recruiting a Legal Counsel - Housing on behalf of our client for an exciting opportunity to join their Legal Services team based in Worcestershire. As Legal Counsel - Housing you will play a key role in delivering high-quality legal services while managing your own caseload of contentious and non-contentious housing matters.

About the Role

Joining the in-house team of a leading household name, you'll manage your own caseload of housing management work, covering both contentious and non-contentious matters from: management, litigation, possession proceedings, injunctions and disrepair claims.

This is a broad, varied role and you'll support the wider development and delivery of legal services across the organisation and its subsidiaries.

Beyond your own caseload, you'll liaise with external legal providers, support on legal spend and invoice analysis, and help ensure compliance with relevant regulations and financial procedures. You'll also build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business, ensuring a quality, value-for-money service throughout.

This is a Worcestershire based role offering a genuine balance of home and office working, on a 35-hour week.

About You

Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or equivalent
Degree, management qualification, or relevant professional qualification
Proven experience delivering legal services, ideally within housing litigation
Strong project management skills, with experience juggling multiple pieces of work
Experience of commercial contracts, negotiation and data protection
Confident communicating complex legal issues clearly to non-legal audiences, both verbally and in writing
Comfortable working with Microsoft 365 at an intermediate level
