What you'll do:
- Manage your own portfolio of Court of Protection cases with sensitivity and professionalism, ensuring high standards of client care at every stage.
- Support Partners in the department by assisting with complex matters and contributing to the overall success of the team.
- Handle a diverse range of deputyship matters for clients who have experienced serious injuries, offering guidance through challenging legal processes.
- Administer trusts and charities as part of your caseload, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and best practices.
- Advise clients on tax issues related to Court of Protection matters, demonstrating attention to detail and up-to-date technical knowledge.
- Build strong relationships with clients by delivering clear communication and empathetic support throughout their legal journey.
- Participate in business development activities and networking events to help grow the department’s profile within the region.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across the open-plan office environment to share knowledge and deliver seamless service.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with regulatory requirements and firm policies.
- Embrace ongoing training opportunities to further develop your expertise in Private Client law.
What you bring:
- Ideally 6+months experience in Court of Protection but would consider an NQ with a seat in Private Client
- Excellent client care skills demonstrated by building strong relationships with individuals facing complex legal challenges.
- A proactive attitude towards business development activities including networking events within the local community.
- Strong communication abilities enabling you to explain intricate legal concepts clearly and empathetically to clients from all backgrounds.
- Attention to detail when administering trusts or advising on tax issues related to Court of Protection matters.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within an open-plan office environment that encourages knowledge sharing among colleagues.
- Genuine enthusiasm for personal development supported by participation in ongoing training programmes offered by the firm.
- Commitment to upholding high ethical standards while maintaining accurate records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
