You will be part of a supportive environment that values collaboration, ongoing professional development, and flexible working arrangements. The firm is committed to nurturing your growth with structured career progression pathways, comprehensive training opportunities, and a culture that encourages sharing knowledge and building strong client relationships. If you are looking for a role where your expertise will be valued and your interpersonal skills can flourish, this is an excellent opportunity to advance your legal career.

What you'll do:

  • Manage a broad caseload of civil and commercial litigation files including company commercial director/shareholder disputes, business partnership disputes, breach of contract claims, property claims, ToLATA matters, boundary/neighbour disputes, private nuisance cases, harassment and defamation actions, will/inheritance disputes, professional negligence claims, debt recovery matters, possession proceedings, and insolvency claims from instruction through to resolution.
  • Draft and review legal documents such as particulars of claim, defences, disclosure statements, witness statements, settlement agreements and other relevant documentation throughout the litigation process.
  • Conduct advocacy at appropriate hearings where rights of audience permit and instruct counsel when necessary to ensure effective representation for clients.
  • Advise clients on dispute resolution strategies including negotiation, mediation, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR), providing empathetic guidance tailored to each unique situation.
  • Ensure compliance with Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) and all relevant court deadlines by maintaining meticulous attention to detail in every aspect of case management.
  • Maintain accurate file management in accordance with regulatory requirements and firm policies to uphold the highest standards of professionalism.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by networking effectively and attending business-sponsored or organised events as required.
  • Work collaboratively within the team environment to mentor junior members and share knowledge for communal growth.
  • Demonstrate commercial awareness by understanding client needs within the context of their business objectives.
  • Commit to maintaining high professional and ethical standards in line with SRA/CILEX Codes of Conduct.

What you bring:

  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales holding a current practising certificate issued by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), or Chartered Legal Executive Litigator (Civil Litigation) or CILEX Lawyer status.
  • Minimum 1 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) in litigation; candidates with 5-6 years PQE may be considered for a more senior position within the team.
  • Strong knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) and litigation processes demonstrated through previous casework.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting while mentoring junior members for shared success.
  • Excellent drafting skills with proven experience preparing particulars of claim, defences, disclosure statements, witness statements and settlement agreements.
  • Analytical skills enabling you to assess complex legal issues sensitively for optimal client outcomes.
  • Effective advocacy skills for representing clients at hearings where rights of audience permit or instructing counsel when necessary.
  • Exceptional organisational abilities allowing you to manage competing deadlines efficiently without compromising quality.
  • Commercial awareness combined with a client-focused approach that prioritises understanding client needs within their broader business context.
  • Commitment to maintaining high professional standards in accordance with SRA/CILEX Codes of Conduct.

What sets this company apart:

This organisation stands out for its dedication to fostering an inclusive workplace where collaboration is encouraged at every level. Employees benefit from flexible working arrangements—including hybrid options—that support work-life balance without compromising professional development. Ongoing training ensures you remain knowledgeable about evolving legal requirements while meeting Continuing Competence obligations under SRA regulations. The firm provides practical perks such as car parking passes alongside clear career progression pathways designed for long-term growth leadership. A supportive leadership style creates an environment where sharing knowledge is valued just as much as delivering results for clients.
