Deputy Head of Legal-13 month FTC

Services business with a global presence require an Interim Deputy Head of Legal for a 13 month period to oversee the legal function during a period of maternity leave. The offices are based in Central London and this would be on a hybrid model (2-3 days/week in the office). You must be available to start in September

The incumbent will be tasked with playing a key role in high level and often complex commercial deals, as well as providing day-to-day advice a matters ranging from technology, IP, data and service agreements. You will be responsible for managing three lawyers in the team. And the postholder will also be required to take the lead on Legal Operations matters – designing and implementing projects with the goal of improving the team’s service output.

The successful candidate will be an accomplished commercial lawyer (ideally 10PQE+ but applications from all levels will be considered on merit), with experience in managing a small to mid-size team. You must also be able to demonstrate experience in leading Legal Operations projects, a knowledge of AI and tech that can be used to optimise the team’s delivery to the business. This role requires someone with a proactive mindset and empathetic style to be able to assist the team with whatever challenges they’re facing.
