An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Advisor to join a highly respected team in Manchester, where your expertise will help clients navigate the complexities of payroll processing, reporting, and taxation. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on providing clear, legally compliant advice and enjoys building meaningful relationships with clients.

As a Payroll Advisor based in Manchester, you will play a pivotal role in guiding clients through the intricacies of payroll management. Your day-to-day activities will involve responding promptly to client queries via telephone, offering practical solutions that align with legal requirements while highlighting any potential risks associated with non-compliance.

Specific duties include:

  • Provide detailed advice and guidance to clients on payroll policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure their ongoing compliance with current legislation.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll law and industry best practices so you can offer the most accurate information possible to clients.
  • Log all advice accurately within the internal system while taking ownership of ongoing cases from start to resolution.
  • Deliver supporting documentation and information tailored to each client’s needs to reinforce the advice provided during consultations.
  • Present engaging internal training sessions as well as external webinars to share knowledge both within the team and with clients.
  • Build rapport and foster positive relationships with clients by actively managing cases through every stage of the process.
  • Assist clients in conducting thorough payroll audits, reviews, and compliance checks to identify areas for improvement or risk mitigation.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues across departments to ensure seamless delivery of services and consistent client experiences.
  • Contribute ideas for improving processes and participate in initiatives aimed at enhancing overall service quality.

Ideally you will have experience in the following areas:

  • A deep understanding of UK payroll legislation and tax regulations is essential for providing accurate advice that keeps clients compliant at all times.
  • Previous experience delivering or managing payroll services—ideally within a Bureau environment—will enable you to hit the ground running in this advisory capacity.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications as well as familiarity with various payroll systems ensures you can work efficiently across multiple platforms.
  • CIPP qualification or equivalent experience demonstrates your commitment to professional standards within the field of payroll administration.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills are required for building lasting relationships with clients and maintaining high levels of satisfaction throughout each engagement.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.

This organisation stands out as an industry leader committed not only to excellence in service delivery but also to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued.
