Save job

Regulatory Analyst A leading industry association is seeking a Regulatory Analyst to join their Advocacy, Public Policy, and Regulatory Strategy function in London. This pivotal position offers you the opportunity to play a vital role in shaping the future of securities lending by supporting technical regulatory analysis and horizon scanning activities that underpin strategic influence across EMEA and international markets.

You will be at the heart of monitoring global legislative developments, translating complex regulatory shifts into actionable intelligence for both internal stakeholders and a broad membership base. The organisation is renowned for its commitment to promoting a safe, efficient, and sustainable securities finance market through advocacy, standard setting, and thought leadership. With hybrid working arrangements and the chance for overseas travel, this role provides an engaging environment where your analytical skills and passion for policy can truly make an impact.

What you'll do:

  • Monitor and track legislative developments across the EU, UK, Middle East, and other key jurisdictions on an ad hoc basis to identify potential impacts on the securities lending industry.
  • Support the drafting of high-quality consultation responses, position papers, and briefing notes for senior leadership and member firms.
  • Assist in coordinating and administering member working groups by preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on technical action items.
  • Conduct preliminary research and data gathering to assess operational and commercial impacts of regulatory changes affecting the securities financing transactions market.
  • Coordinate advocacy efforts by liaising with internal units and tracking progress of joint initiatives with other trade associations.
  • Prepare structured research summaries and notes to support high-level meetings with regulators and policymakers.
  • Assist in researching and drafting articles, newsletters, and thought leadership papers to communicate policy stances to the wider market.
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of key regulatory contacts, committees, and legislative timelines to ensure timely engagement with stakeholders.
  • Provide essential analytical and administrative support to the Head of Advocacy, Public Policy & Regulatory Strategy in day-to-day execution of advocacy workstreams.

What you bring:

  • At least 2–5 years of direct experience in securities financing or supporting related business functions from product, legal, regulatory or trading perspectives.
  • Proven ability to research complex topics thoroughly and organise findings into logical, structured formats suitable for professional audiences.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills enabling you to draft clear summaries tailored for diverse stakeholders.
  • A foundational understanding of financial regulatory frameworks as well as operational aspects of capital markets infrastructure.
  • Strong organisational skills allowing you to manage multiple administrative tasks alongside research responsibilities while meeting strict deadlines.
  • A responsive attitude with agility to pivot between projects as legislative priorities evolve throughout the year.
  • Comfort using data tools or legislative tracking platforms to streamline horizon scanning processes efficiently.
  • Experience presenting research findings or updates confidently in group settings or internal meetings is highly desirable.
