Client Management Associate (12mo FTC)
A leading global financial institution is seeking a Client Management Associate to join their Capital Markets team. This role offers you the opportunity to be at the heart of client onboarding and lifecycle management, supporting a diverse range of institutional clients across the UK and EU regions. You will play a pivotal part in ensuring data integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence, all while collaborating with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
What you'll do:
- Support end-to-end process execution across Capital Markets initiatives by optimising client onboarding, regulatory enablement, and lifecycle governance activities.
- Contribute to the design, documentation, and continuous improvement of standardised processes, procedures, job aids, and playbooks to ensure repeatable and auditable outcomes.
- Actively assist in implementing new workflows, process changes, and control enhancements into Business-As-Usual operations while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
- Manage relationships with clients as their main point of contact, building productive connections between business teams and key downstream stakeholders including Operations, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Technology, and Change Management.
- Coordinate information flow, dependencies, and deliverables across stakeholders to support timely execution of initiatives and resolve day-to-day issues efficiently.
- Prepare materials for governance forums, working groups, and steering discussions; track actions and follow through on agreed outcomes to ensure alignment with business priorities.
- Provide guidance to junior team members by facilitating cross-training of relevant skills and industry knowledge to maintain overall team competency.
- Own the validation and documentation of regulatory data required for direct client onboardings and fund account openings; ensure completeness and accuracy prior to account opening.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and evidence to support regulatory reviews, internal audits, and control testing throughout the client lifecycle.
- Identify inconsistencies in client and product data with the objective of remediating discrepancies or gaps; produce management reporting dashboards and executive materials for senior management visibility.
What you bring:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience within Client Onboarding, Trade Control / Trade Desk Support or Operations—preferably within Capital Markets—with proven dependability in managing complex client relationships.
- Strong customer service mindset demonstrated by accountability over end-to-end client onboarding experiences; ability to nurture positive outcomes for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills combined with strong analytical capability; adept at managing difficult conversations sensitively while building consensus among diverse groups.
- Solid understanding of Capital Markets clients (including Asset Managers, Insurance Companies, Pension Funds) as well as products such as Sales & Trading, Lending or Advisory services on a global basis.
- Familiarity with Retail, Commercial or Wealth Banking within major financial institutions is considered an asset; knowledge of institutional client types is essential.
- Demonstrated organisational skills enabling effective prioritisation of multiple deadlines in a demanding environment; ability to respond quickly yet thoughtfully under pressure.
- Comfortable leveraging technology tools for efficiency gains; quick learner who can adapt new business processes or systems rapidly; prior experience with data management concepts is desirable.
- Continuous improvement mindset focused on identifying opportunities for simplification or automation; willingness to share ideas collaboratively for operational enhancements.
- Strong research skills paired with analytical acumen; capable of collecting validating consolidating presenting information accurately in appropriate formats.
- Knowledge of applicable foreign/domestic regulations (AML/KYC Taxation Dodd Frank EMIR MiFID CSA SFTR CIRO HKMA etc.) affecting business practices; university degree required preferably in Finance or Accounting
