Middle Office Analyst
A prestigious, globally recognised investment management firm is seeking a Middle Office Analyst to join their London team. With a strong reputation in insurance-linked securities and catastrophe bonds, offering you exposure to complex and rewarding financial instruments, your day-to-day responsibilities will centre around supporting core investment operations functions within a highly respected asset management environment.
What you'll do:
- Provide comprehensive support to the Investment Management team by ensuring efficient and timely implementation of investment decisions across multiple portfolios.
- Continuously review foreign exchange exposures and execute FX hedging strategies to optimise risk management for various funds.
- Monitor and validate Net Asset Valuation calculations for assigned funds, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal standards.
- Calculate and review fund performance estimates on a regular basis, contributing valuable insights into portfolio returns.
- Oversee and coordinate the client reporting process by preparing accurate reports and responding promptly to client queries.
- Maintain and update both internal and external systems with current investment data as well as product reference information.
- Support all aspects of product lifecycle events such as onboarding new funds, managing restructurings, or overseeing fund liquidations.
- Handle internal as well as external ad-hoc requests efficiently while maintaining high standards of service delivery.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless communication between front office, back office, and external stakeholders.
What you bring:
- A university degree (BA equivalent) combined with relevant experience in Operations or Middle Office roles within the Investment Management industry is required for this position.
- A solid understanding of financial instruments such as fixed income products, equities, foreign exchange derivatives, futures contracts, swaps, and related securities is essential.
- Advanced knowledge of fund accounting principles is necessary to ensure accurate valuation and reporting across multiple portfolios.
- A process-oriented mindset paired with strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail will enable you to excel in this role.
- The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting tight delivery schedules is crucial for maintaining operational efficiency.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required; experience with VBA, SQL, or Python would be considered advantageous but not mandatory.
- A team-oriented approach combined with a proactive attitude towards task completion will help foster positive relationships within the group.
