Management Accountant

Management Accountant Location: Milton Keynes Salary: £50,000 – £55,000

Robert Walters are supporting a successful and fast-growing organisation with the recruitment of a Management Accountant to join their finance team based in Milton Keynes.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of the UK business accounting function, providing financial insight, analysis, and business partnering support to senior stakeholders. You will play a key role in supporting commercial decision-making, improving processes, and driving financial performance.

The role:
As Management Accountant, you will be responsible for the full accounting ownership of the UK entity, including management reporting, project accounting, financial analysis, and partnering with operational and commercial teams.

Key responsibilities include:

• Ownership of monthly management accounts including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow reporting
• Providing reporting, insight, and analysis on gross margin and overhead variances against forecast and budget
• Acting as the first point of contact for operational and commercial teams, supporting senior management
• Full ownership of Balance Sheet reconciliations, including invoice discounting and project balances
• Maintaining and enhancing financial systems, processes, and controls
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities
• Preparing audit working papers and supporting statutory accounts preparation
• Managing VAT calculations, reconciliations, reporting, and HMRC submissions
• Supporting wider finance analysis and ad hoc business projects

The ideal candidate will have:

• Newly qualified accountant or close to qualifying (ACA,ACCA or CIMA), this role would also suit someone looking to progress into their first move outside of practice into a broader commercial role.
• Strong management accounting experience within a commercial environment
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong analytical ability with a high level of attention to detail
• A proactive, organised approach with a willingness to challenge and improve processes
• A flexible, hands-on attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
