Management Accountant

~~Robert Walters – Management Accountant – Permanent – Birmingham – £55,000 per annum~~ Our client, a well-established and growing business, is seeking a Management Accountant to join their senior finance team. This is a broad and commercially focused role, offering the opportunity to take ownership of financial planning, reporting, controls and business performance analysis. Working closely with operational stakeholders, you will play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making and driving continuous improvement across the finance function.

Key responsibilities of the Management Accountant:

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting.
• Oversee reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and journal postings.
• Deliver commercial analysis on margins, product performance and cost structures.
• Maintain strong financial controls and ensure audit readiness.
• Ensure compliance with HMRC requirements, VAT regulations and statutory reporting obligations.
• Lead and develop operational staff while supporting training and development initiatives.

Key essentials of the Management Accountant:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
• Proven experience producing management accounts and financial reporting
• Advanced Excel
