An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant (14-Month FTC) to join a highly respected property investment and development organisation based in London. This role offers the chance to work within a close-knit, supportive finance team where your collaborative spirit and initiative will be truly valued. You will play a pivotal part in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting quarterly consolidations, and ensuring compliance with international accounting standards. The company is renowned for its commitment to professional growth, knowledge sharing, and fostering an inclusive workplace culture. If you are looking for a position that combines technical expertise with meaningful teamwork and the opportunity to make a real impact, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

Responsibilities:

* Produce and deliver quarterly management accounts for smaller entities and third-party accounts efficiently, ensuring timely completion and accuracy in all financial documentation.

* Support the Finance Manager during the quarterly consolidation process by preparing comprehensive support schedules for prompt submission to head office.

* Assist in drafting statutory accounts for all relevant entities, working closely with the Finance Controller to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and deadlines.

* Collaborate with external auditors to finalise statutory accounts in accordance with agreed timelines, providing necessary documentation and responding promptly to queries.

* Review draft financial statements of third-party entities to confirm consistency with previous year-end reports and identify any significant changes or discrepancies.

* Oversee VAT and CIS reporting processes by conducting thorough reconciliations, ensuring submissions are accurate and completed within required timeframes.

* Prepare ONS survey forms and related schedules for review by the Finance Controller, maintaining high standards of data integrity throughout.

* Proactively train junior team members by sharing your expertise, helping to build capability within the finance function and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

* Support the implementation and enhancement of new systems as needed, contributing ideas for process improvements that benefit the wider team.

* Assist with daily accounting operations such as payment runs, reviewing journal entries, entering bank payment details during staff absences, and supporting colleagues’ development.

The Ideal Candidate:

* Demonstrable experience in producing management accounts within a property investment or similar sector environment where attention to detail is paramount.

* A solid understanding of IFRS/US GAAP accounting standards gained through hands-on involvement in consolidation processes across multiple entities.

* Proven track record of assisting with statutory account preparation and working collaboratively with external auditors to meet strict reporting deadlines.

* Experience reviewing draft financial statements for accuracy and consistency against prior year-end reports within a multi-entity structure.

* Comprehensive knowledge of VAT/CIS reporting requirements including reconciliation processes that ensure timely submission of returns.

* Ability to prepare official survey forms (such as ONS) accurately while maintaining high levels of data integrity throughout all reporting activities.

* A passion for sharing knowledge by proactively training junior colleagues or less experienced team members within a finance function.

* Familiarity with supporting system implementations or upgrades aimed at improving efficiency or accuracy within accounting operations.

* Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated through effective collaboration with colleagues at all levels of seniority within a small team setting.

* Dependable approach to supporting daily accounting operations such as payment runs, journal entry reviews, banking portal administration during staff absences, and general team support.
