Senior Group Financial Accountant
Salary: £65,000-£75,000
Location: London
A leading global technology company is seeking a Senior Group Financial Accountant to join its collaborative and forward-thinking finance team in London. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to play a pivotal role in supporting all aspects of global financial reporting, tax compliance and statutory accounting across multiple international entities. You will be joining a thriving organisation that values teamwork, curiosity, and the sharing of knowledge, where your expertise will directly contribute to the success of both the business and its clients. With a flexible hybrid working model, generous wellbeing rewards, and a culture that encourages professional growth, this position offers you the chance to make a meaningful impact while developing your career within a supportive and inclusive environment. If you are passionate about responsible financial practices and eager to work alongside knowledgeable peers in a non-bureaucratic setting, this could be the perfect next step for you.
What you'll do:
- Support the preparation of statutory accounts for both UK and foreign entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Aid in the production of tax returns for UK and international entities by gathering data, preparing documentation, and liaising with external advisors as needed.
- Assist with international payroll processes and benefits reporting to ensure timely submissions across multiple jurisdictions.
- Contribute to international sales tax reporting by compiling information from various sources and maintaining up-to-date records for audit purposes.
- Help complete and submit statistical reports such as ONS returns promptly to meet regulatory deadlines.
- Provide support during month-end close activities for non-trading entities by reconciling accounts and preparing necessary journal entries.
- Assist with global research and development (R&D) tax claims by collecting supporting evidence and coordinating with internal stakeholders.
- Participate in group audits by preparing schedules, responding to auditor queries, and ensuring all requested information is available.
- Engage in ad hoc projects that may arise as the company continues to grow and evolve its business needs.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across finance functions to share knowledge, improve processes, and foster a positive team atmosphere.
What you bring:
- You are fully qualified or part qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with at least 5 years’ experience gained either in practice or within a busy finance function for a global company.
- Your background includes hands-on exposure to all areas of modern finance teams including statutory accounting, tax compliance, payroll processing, audit support, and process improvement initiatives.
- You have direct experience working with US entities; familiarity with US tax requirements is highly desirable for this role.
- You possess consolidation experience which enables you to manage complex group structures efficiently; this skill is considered advantageous but not essential.
- Your understanding of IFRS standards and UK tax legislation is thorough enough to ensure accurate reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
- You are comfortable operating within high-growth SaaS or technology-driven environments where priorities can shift quickly as business needs evolve.
- Your communication skills are excellent - both written and verbal and you thrive when working collaboratively within hybrid or remote teams.
- You have practical experience using accounting systems such as Sage (or similar), CRM tools, and advanced Excel functionality for data analysis.
- You understand the unique dynamics of SME organisations and appreciate how your work impacts overall business performance at every level.
- Your time management abilities are well developed; you remain organised under pressure while showing enthusiasm for learning new skills and progressing your career.
