An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Analyst to join a well-established organisation in Burton-upon-Trent, offering a competitive daily rate of £250. This role is central to supporting site transformation and performance management, where your expertise will be valued as you help drive the financial success of key projects. You will play an integral part in ensuring robust reporting, compliance with corporate policies, and effective project cost tracking. Finance Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Play a pivotal role in the month end reporting process by ensuring all financial reconciliations, cost calculations, order backlog reviews, inventory checks, and project balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.
  • Track project spend meticulously by monitoring costs committed, incurred, and forecasted for both operational expenditure (OPEX) and capital expenditure (CAPEX), ensuring transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare detailed project models that provide robust forecasts updated with monthly actuals to support informed decision-making across the business.
  • Report on risks and opportunities by identifying key line items, valuing them accurately, and ensuring mitigation actions are implemented effectively.
  • Monitor project revenue progress closely to ensure contract milestones are achieved promptly and invoicing is completed in a timely manner.
  • Support the business with cash collection activities and contribute to reducing overdue invoices through proactive engagement with stakeholders.
  • Gain essential business knowledge to backfill team members during the transition of operations between sites, ensuring continuity of service.
  • Assist with both external and internal audit requirements by maintaining compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations and group accounting policies.
  • Ensure adherence to statutory accounting standards including UK GAAP and US GAAP while upholding data protection legislation in all handling and storage of sensitive information.
  • Consistently follow Health, Safety & Environmental instructions to maintain a safe workplace for yourself and colleagues.

What you bring:

  • Qualified by experience or part qualified/finalist/qualified CIMA status demonstrates your solid foundation in finance principles relevant to this role.
  • Experience working collaboratively within project teams enables you to build strong relationships across departments.
  • Excellent communication skills allow you to present financial information clearly to both finance professionals and non-finance stakeholders alike.
  • A background in presenting complex financial data ensures you can translate numbers into actionable insights for decision-makers.
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing environment gives you valuable context for understanding operational challenges unique to this sector.
  • Ability to remain dependable under pressure means you consistently meet fixed deadlines without compromising accuracy or quality.
  • A customer-oriented approach ensures your work supports both internal teams and external partners effectively.
  • Advanced IT literacy includes full proficiency with Excel, other Microsoft Office applications, and MRP systems for efficient data analysis and reporting.
