An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Record-to-Report (RTR) Manager to join a high-performing finance function within a growing and evolving organisation on the outskirts of Manchester. This is a key role in a successful business, in which you’ll be responsible for leading the RTR function, while also playing a significant role in finance transformation, process improvement and systems development.

You will combine strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise with a commercially minded, improvement-focused approach, helping to strengthen controls, improve reporting and drive greater efficiency across the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Record-to-Report team, ensuring a high-quality month-end and year-end close.
  • Own the integrity and accuracy of the Group's general ledger, balance sheet and financial reporting.
  • Oversee month-end close, reconciliations, journals, accruals, prepayments and intercompany accounting.
  • Ensure robust financial controls and compliance with Group accounting policies and relevant accounting standards.
  • Partner with FP&A, commercial finance and wider Finance teams to improve the quality and timeliness of reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate finance processes.
  • Lead and support finance transformation projects, including ERP, systems, reporting and process improvement initiatives.
  • Drive the implementation of best practice across RTR and establish scalable processes to support future growth.
  • Develop KPIs and reporting to improve visibility of the RTR function's performance.
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of finance professionals.

About You

You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with significant experience within a Record-to-Report, Financial Control or Group Finance environment in a large, complex business.

  • Strong technical accounting and financial reporting experience.
  • Proven experience managing and developing finance teams.
  • Excellent understanding of month-end, balance sheet control and financial governance.
  • Experience working within a complex or multi-entity organisation.
  • A track record of process improvement and finance transformation.
  • Experience of ERP or finance system implementations would be advantageous.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • A proactive mindset, with the ability to identify problems and implement practical solutions.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced RTR professional looking for a role that combines financial control leadership with genuine transformation and change, within a business where they can make a tangible impact.
