A leading international organisation is seeking a Global Purchase-to-Pay Process Owner to take responsibility for the end-to-end P2P process across all regions and business units. As a Global Purchase-to-Pay Process Owner you will play a central role in shaping how purchase-to-pay activities are executed worldwide. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating closely with senior leaders from Finance, Procurement, Shared Services, IT, Treasury, and Business teams to ensure seamless deployment of standardised processes. You will champion digitalisation efforts—such as workflow automation or touchless invoice processing—while acting as the go-to expert for SAP S/4HANA-related matters.

Key duties include:

  • Take full accountability for the global Purchase-to-Pay process by establishing and maintaining standardised end-to-end processes, policies, controls, and ways of working across all regions.
  • Define, maintain, and govern the global P2P process framework while ensuring compliance with agreed standards through effective governance structures.
  • Act as the escalation point for significant process, policy, or system issues impacting P2P performance globally.
  • Drive global process standardisation and optimisation initiatives to achieve substantial efficiency gains, cost reduction, and improved service delivery.
  • Lead simplification, automation, and digitalisation projects in partnership with global functions and business stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and benefit realisation.
  • Provide functional leadership for Accounts Payable digitalisation including workflow automation, OCR technology adoption, touchless invoice processing, and other emerging solutions.
  • Support future transformation programmes by offering process expertise, design leadership, and change management guidance.
  • Act as the business process authority for P2P within SAP S/4HANA environments; collaborate with IT teams to optimise system functionality and maximise adoption of standard solutions.
  • Develop and own global P2P KPIs, SLAs, and performance metrics to monitor effectiveness while driving continuous improvement towards external best practice benchmarks.

To excel as a Global Purchase-to-Pay Process Owner you will bring extensive hands-on experience in managing end-to-end P2P processes within complex multinational settings. Your background should include deep familiarity with both Accounts Payable operations and advanced SAP platforms—especially SAP S/4HANA—enabling you to act as a trusted advisor during major system transformations.

Ideally you will have experience in te following areas:

  • Extensive experience managing Purchase-to-Pay processes within large multinational organisations or shared services environments.
  • Deep understanding of Accounts Payable operations combined with practical knowledge of SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA systems.
  • Proven track record in leading global process ownership initiatives—including governance frameworks—and delivering measurable transformation outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing process standardisation projects alongside automation or digitalisation programmes (e.g., OCR technology or workflow tools).
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with an ability to engage effectively at all organisational levels including senior leadership teams.
  • Experience supporting Shared Services or Global Business Services environments through operational improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent analytical abilities paired with problem-solving skills relevant to complex finance operations contexts.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma or equivalent approaches foc.
