A leading organisation in Manchester is seeking a number of Accounts Payable Specialist to join their dedicated finance team. As an Accounts Payable Specialist based in Manchester, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end accounts payable process. Your day-to-day activities will involve processing invoices, reconciling statements, maintaining accurate records, collaborating with various departments, responding to supplier queries, supporting month-end close procedures, participating in process improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulations, engaging in training opportunities, and nurturing positive relationships both internally and externally. Success in this role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, a commitment to accuracy, and a willingness to share knowledge within the team.

Key duties include:

• Processing high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring all payments are made on time and in accordance with company policies.
• Reconcile supplier statements regularly, identifying discrepancies and resolving them through considerate communication with vendors.
• Maintain up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions using accounting software, supporting audit requirements and compliance standards.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams such as procurement and finance to ensure seamless workflow and timely resolution of queries.
• Assist in month-end closing activities by preparing reports, analysing outstanding balances, and supporting the finance team with relevant documentation.
• Respond promptly to supplier enquiries with empathy and professionalism, fostering positive relationships built on trust and reliability.
• Support process improvements by sharing ideas for enhancing efficiency within the accounts payable function while maintaining accuracy.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements by keeping informed about changes in financial legislation affecting accounts payable procedures.

Ideally you will be a recent graduate (finance & accounting, economics, business or maths graduate ) or have 6-12 months accounts payable experience to be considered for this role (full training will be provided)
