Accounts Payable Assistant Based in Milton Keynes £27,000 - £30,000
Robert Walters are partnering with a well-established organisation in Milton Keynes to recruit an Accounts Payable Assistant to join their finance team. What you’ll be doing
As an Accounts Payable Assistant, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices and supporting the wider finance function. Your responsibilities will include:
- Processing, coding, and inputting supplier invoices into the ERP system
- Matching purchase orders, invoices, and delivery notes for approval
- Ensuring timely supplier payments in line with agreed terms
- Reconciling supplier statements and purchase ledger accounts
- Reviewing coding accuracy and resolving discrepancies
- Handling supplier and internal queries professionally and efficiently
- Preparing payment runs for review and approval
- Supporting month-end processes, including VAT checks
- Processing staff expenses in line with company policy
- Assisting with cash flow forecasting and reporting
- Supporting ongoing process and system improvement projects
What you’ll bring
To succeed in this role, you will bring experience within accounts payable or a similar finance administration role, along with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach. You will have:
- Experience in accounts payable, purchase ledger, or finance administration
- Strong ERP or accounting system experience
- Excellent accuracy and data entry skills
- Good understanding of VAT and invoice processing requirements
- Strong communication skills for supplier and internal liaison
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Experience with reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
- A collaborative approach and willingness to support process improvements
