An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join a highly respected property investment and development business in London. This role offers the chance to become an integral part of a collaborative finance team, supporting a diverse portfolio that includes commercial business parks, residential developments, and large-scale office projects. As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day financial transactions across asset management, development, and corporate overheads. Responsibilities

* Reviewing, verifying, and matching invoices to ensure accuracy before processing them through the accounting system.

* Ensuring all purchase invoices are processed promptly and settled within agreed timelines to maintain positive supplier relationships.

* Entering sales and purchase ledger data into the accounting system with meticulous attention to detail.

* Setting up new accounts for customers and vendors while maintaining accurate records for audit purposes.

* Auditing employee expense claims thoroughly before processing payments in line with company policy.

* Posting bank transactions accurately and performing monthly bank reconciliations to ensure financial integrity.

* Preparing aged debtors and creditors reports, managing the shared accounts mailbox, and distributing finance post efficiently.

* Coordinating weekly payment runs and raising intercompany or customer invoices related to property or asset management fees as required.

* Overseeing annual ground rent billing processes and handling cheque payments securely.

* Responding promptly to queries from vendors or internal stakeholders while providing ad-hoc support to the wider finance team.

The Ideal Candidates

* A minimum of three years’ experience working within purchase ledger or similar transactional finance roles in a busy environment.

* Sound knowledge of accounts payable and receivable practices with proven ability to process high volumes of transactions accurately.

* Excellent analytical skills paired with exceptional attention to detail when reviewing financial documents or reconciling accounts.

* Strong interpersonal skills that enable you to build effective relationships with both internal colleagues and external suppliers or customers.

* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel alongside familiarity with other relevant software such as PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

* Experience using SAP or similar enterprise resource planning systems is highly desirable but not essential if you can demonstrate adaptability with new technologies.

* A hands-on approach combined with a rigorous methodology ensures every transaction is completed correctly first time.

* Comfortable working amidst ambiguity; able to contribute constructively towards developing best practice processes from scratch over time.

* Demonstrated ability to take ownership of work streams while remaining dependable within a team-oriented environment.

* Alignment with cultural values such as collaboration, respectfulness, progressiveness, authenticity, along with excellent communication skills at all levels.
