Interim Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Interim Management Accountant to support our finance team during a busy period. This is a hands-on role requiring an individual who can quickly integrate into the business and provide immediate support across management accounting, statutory reporting, audit preparation, and VAT activities.

Interim Management Accountant (3-Month Contract)

Location: Hybrid / Flexible
Contract: Interim, 3 Months Initially
Rate: c.£300pd Inside IR35

We are seeking an experienced Interim Management Accountant to support our finance team during a busy period. This is a hands-on role requiring an individual who can quickly integrate into the business and provide immediate support across management accounting, statutory reporting, audit preparation, and VAT activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of monthly management accounts and supporting analysis
• Balance sheet reconciliations and maintenance of financial controls
• Assisting with year-end financial accounts preparation
• Supporting external audit requirements, including schedule preparation and audit queries
• Preparation and submission of VAT returns
• Variance analysis and commentary for senior stakeholders
• Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes
• Identifying opportunities for process improvements within the finance function
• Ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required

About You

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Proven experience in a Management Accountant or Financial Accountant role
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles
• Previous experience supporting external audits
• Good working knowledge of VAT compliance and reporting
• Strong Excel skills and experience with finance systems
• Able to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Available to start at short notice or immediately preferred
