EMEA Head of Fixed Income Production Services

A leading global financial institution is seeking a Head of Fixed Income Production Services (EMEA) to lead a critical function supporting front-to-back trading operations across Rates, Credit, and Securitised Products. This is a senior hands on leadership role responsible for ensuring the stability, performance and continuous improvement of a complex production environment supporting business-critical trading applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a high-performing regional production support team based in London
  • Oversee production services for Fixed Income trading systems across pre-trade and post-trade workflows
  • Act as the senior escalation point for major incidents and ensure effective resolution of complex issues
  • Drive stability, resilience, and performance improvements across a distributed application estate
  • Partner closely with Front Office, Technology, Infrastructure, and Control functions
  • Lead change, release, and incident management processes across the production environment
  • Champion automation, DevOps practices, and digital transformation initiatives
  • Develop team capability through coaching, mentoring, and structured upskilling
  • Ensure strong adherence to governance, risk, audit, and regulatory requirements

Required Experience

Leadership & Management

  • Proven experience leading production support teams within a global financial services environment
  • Strong people management skills, with a track record of developing and retaining talent
  • Ability to operate effectively in a high-pressure, business-critical environment

Fixed Income Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of Fixed Income products (Rates and/or Credit)
  • Solid knowledge of the trade lifecycle, valuation, PnL, and risk

Technical Expertise

  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise trading systems
  • Strong hands-on capability across:
    • Linux / Unix / Windows environments
    • Databases and SQL
    • Middleware and distributed systems
  • Scripting experience (e.g. Python, Shell, Perl)

DevOps & Tools

  • Familiarity with modern development and deployment practices
  • Experience with tools such as:
    • Git, Jenkins, Docker, Ansible
    • Monitoring & logging tools (e.g. Elastic stack)
    • Workflow tools (e.g. Jira)

Service Management

  • Strong experience with incident, problem, and change management
  • Familiarity with ITSM platforms (e.g. ServiceNow or similar)
  • Good understanding of ITIL frameworks

Emerging Technology

  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar)
  • Interest or experience in automation, AI/ML, or transformation initiatives

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent stakeholder management, with the ability to engage senior business and technology leaders
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Calm and effective decision-making under pressure
