Data Delivery Manager

Data Delivery Manager 6 Months Inside IR35 London (2-3 days p/w onsite)

We are seeking an experienced Data Delivery Manager to lead the execution of business-critical data workstreams across our digital media and reader revenue platforms.

You will sit at the intersection of data engineering, product management, and editorial insights. Your primary focus will be unblocking teams, managing agile delivery cycles, and ensuring complex data pipelines are built to support global, real-time analytics. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to democratise data, providing journalists, product managers, and commercial stakeholders with the insights they need to engage a global audience.

Key Responsibilities

• Agile Delivery Management: Own the delivery lifecycle for data engineering and analytics workstreams using Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
• Pipeline & Migration Tracking: Oversee the migration, orchestration, and scaling of multi-source subscription, traffic, and commercial data lakes.
• Stakeholder Enablement: Facilitate collaboration between data teams and non-technical stakeholders (editorial, marketing, executive leadership) to democratise real-time traffic data safely.
• Blocker Removal: Manage team dependencies, eliminate infrastructure bottlenecks, and handle strict delivery timelines to hit strategic launch goals.
• Governance Alignment: Partner with the data governance team to ensure all delivered pipelines maintain high data quality and meet strict data privacy standards.

Core Tech Stack & Tools

Candidates must have experience delivering projects within a similar high-volume data ecosystem:

• Cloud Infrastructure: Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Data Processing & Streaming: Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Kinesis, or Kafka
• Data Warehousing: Snowflake or BigQuery
• Search & Analytics: Elasticsearch / Elastic Stack (specifically for real-time log and user action tracking)
• Workflow Orchestration: Apache Airflow
• Project Management Tools: Jira and Confluence

Requirements

• Proven Media/Digital Experience: Background managing data delivery in high-traffic digital publishing, subscription-based products, or e-commerce environments.
• Technical Understanding: Strong comprehension of cloud architecture (AWS) and modern ELT/ETL data pipeline patterns.
• Agile Expertise: Extensive experience leading scrum ceremonies, managing backlogs, and running sprint planning for data teams.
