Data Governance Associate (Capital Markets, SQL, Python)

Robert Walters is partnering with a leading international financial services organisation undergoing significant investment across AI governance, data strategy and front-office transformation within Capital Markets.

This is a newly created opportunity for an AI Governance Specialist to play a key role in shaping how AI solutions are governed, monitored and deployed across a complex trading and markets environment. The position sits within a high-profile transformation function working closely with senior stakeholders across business, data, risk and technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the governance and oversight of AI and machine learning solutions across Capital Markets
• Help implement and embed responsible AI standards and governance controls across the full AI lifecycle
• Maintain oversight of AI solution inventories, governance processes and compliance requirements
• Partner with Front Office, technology and data teams to improve AI readiness and data quality
• Assess datasets for AI suitability, lineage, accessibility and governance standards
• Collaborate with Data Owners and Stewards to improve metadata, controls and business glossary alignment
• Support monitoring frameworks relating to explainability, fairness, robustness and model governance
• Track emerging regulatory expectations and contribute to AI governance best practice
• Act as a key liaison between business and technology stakeholders on AI governance initiatives

About You

The successful candidate is likely to bring a combination of Capital Markets domain knowledge, strong analytical capability and a genuine interest in AI governance and emerging technologies.

You may come from a background in:

• AI governance
• Data governance
• Capital Markets change or transformation
• Data management
• Risk or regulatory change
• Business analysis within trading or markets environments

Experience sought includes:

• Exposure to AI or ML governance frameworks and model lifecycle concepts
• Strong understanding of Capital Markets products, operations or trade lifecycle processes
• Experience working with large datasets and data quality frameworks
• SQL and/or Python capability
• Knowledge of tools such as Databricks, Power BI or similar analytical platforms
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
