Data Engineer - Media (Snowflake, CI/CD, Python, SQL)
Robert Walters are supporting a fast-growing international advisory business in the search for a Senior Data Engineer to join their expanding Technology & Innovation function in London.
This is an opportunity to join a highly collaborative and modern engineering environment where data is treated with the same discipline as software product development. The business is investing heavily in building a scalable cloud-based data platform and is looking for an engineer who enjoys ownership, automation and building maintainable systems within a lean, high-performing team.
The organisation operates globally across London, New York, Singapore and India, supporting major enterprise clients with analytics, technology and operational transformation initiatives.
The Role
You will play a key role in the development and evolution of a modern Snowflake-based data platform, helping migrate legacy workflows into scalable, automated and version-controlled engineering solutions.
The role combines hands-on engineering, platform optimisation and engineering best practice, with strong emphasis on CI/CD, testing, automation and maintainability.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Designing, building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and data products within Snowflake
- Developing automated CI/CD deployment workflows and embedding testing practices into the engineering lifecycle
- Supporting the migration of legacy data workflows into modern cloud-native architecture
- Managing and optimising Snowflake performance, compute and access controls
- Building maintainable ETL/ELT solutions using Python and SQL
- Contributing to infrastructure automation and reproducible environment management
- Working closely with analysts and data scientists to translate business requirements into engineering solutions
- Establishing engineering standards, documentation and development best practice across the team
About You
The successful candidate will bring strong modern data engineering capability alongside an engineering-first mindset and a passion for automation, maintainability and scalable delivery.
You will ideally have experience across:
- Snowflake data platform engineering
- Python development for data pipelines and automation
- CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions
- SQL optimisation and data modelling
- Automated testing frameworks and data quality validation
- Engineering best practice including version control and modular development
- Modern ELT tooling such as dbt
- Cloud-based data environments
- Infrastructure-as-code tooling such as Terraform (desirable)
- Workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow, Prefect or Dagster (desirable)
