Data Architect | Capital Markets | Data Platforms & Governance

Robert Walters is recruiting a Data Architect for a London-based investment bank. You will shape its enterprise data strategy and guide the design of data solutions across capital markets, working closely with business stakeholders and technology delivery teams.

The role offers scope to influence the wider architecture while staying involved in how solutions are implemented.

What you’ll do

• Develop the enterprise data architecture strategy and roadmap.
• Design principles and standards for data integrity, security and governance.
• Create data models, dictionaries and taxonomies that improve consistency and traceability.
• Guide the architecture of data warehouses, BI platforms, master data solutions and data integrations.
• Strengthen data lineage, quality measures and integration across cloud and on-premise platforms.
• Advise delivery teams and third-party suppliers to ensure new solutions align with the enterprise architecture.

What you’ll bring

• Data architecture experience in investment banking or capital markets, with knowledge of data such as trades, sensitivities and market data.
• Experience designing and implementing data platforms, including warehousing, BI, master data management and integration.
• Strong logical and physical data modelling skills, including entity relationship modelling and OLTP/OLAP principles.
• Knowledge of data engineering, relational and NoSQL databases, ETL processes and hybrid platforms.
• The ability to explain architectural decisions clearly and work through complex requirements with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience with AWS Glue, Amazon EMR, Azure Data Factory or comparable data technologies would be valuable.
