Infrastructure Architect - Banking

A leading international financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Architect to join its Architecture team. This is a strategic role responsible for shaping infrastructure architecture across the organisation, ensuring technology solutions align with business objectives, enterprise standards, and long-term technology strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide architectural leadership across infrastructure technologies, ensuring solutions align with enterprise architecture principles and business strategy.
• Review and govern infrastructure projects, ensuring designs adhere to architectural standards, security requirements and technology policies.
• Develop high-level infrastructure solution designs that are suitable for technical approval and implementation.
• Partner with engineering, delivery and business teams to understand requirements and translate these into scalable infrastructure solutions.
• Drive the development and adoption of infrastructure standards, design patterns and best practices across the organisation.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to technology selection and strategic roadmaps.
• Collaborate with technical leads and vendors to define future infrastructure capabilities and long-term technology direction.
• Produce high-quality architecture documentation, standards and design artefacts to support governance and project delivery.
• Provide guidance to regional and global technology teams to ensure consistent implementation of infrastructure standards.
• Challenge existing designs where appropriate to promote modern, resilient and fit-for-purpose infrastructure solutions.

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• Proven experience as an Infrastructure Architect within a financial services or similarly regulated environment.
• Broad knowledge across enterprise infrastructure technologies and architecture principles.
• Experience defining infrastructure strategies, standards and governance processes.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure design, technology risk and solution assurance.
• Experience working closely with engineering, delivery and business stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience producing architecture documentation, solution designs and technical standards.
• TOGAF certification or similar architecture qualification is highly desirable.
