Salary: Competitive and based on experience

Location: London

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an International Tax Adviser (USA) to join a highly respected global organisation based in London. This role offers the chance to work within a supportive and inclusive team, where your expertise will be valued and your professional growth encouraged. You will play a pivotal part in managing complex US tax compliance obligations for non-US resident corporate entities, partnerships, and individual partners, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all filings. The organisation is committed to fostering a respectful culture where everyone thrives, with flexible working opportunities and ongoing training to help you develop your skills further. If you are looking for a role that combines technical challenge with collaborative teamwork and the chance to make a real impact on international tax processes, this could be the perfect fit for you.

  • Join a globally recognised organisation in London, offering a permanent full-time position with extensive opportunities for professional development and training.
  • Work within an inclusive environment that values diversity, respect, and collaboration, ensuring every team member feels supported and empowered to achieve their best.
  • Take responsibility for complex US tax compliance tasks, partner profit share calculations, ledger analysis, and global coordination of tax filings, making a tangible difference to the business’s international operations.

What you'll do:

As an International Tax Adviser (USA), you will immerse yourself in a wide range of international tax activities that underpin the success of the organisation’s global operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve preparing intricate schedules to support US tax filings for non-resident entities and individuals while maintaining meticulous records across multiple jurisdictions. You will collaborate closely with finance teams worldwide to reconcile balance sheet accounts related to partner taxes—ensuring clarity in all transactions. By monitoring reserves throughout the year and overseeing administrative processes such as ITIN applications or IRS form submissions, you will help streamline compliance workflows. Your role also extends to coordinating global filings by providing timely information to local teams or external advisers so that deadlines are consistently met. Working alongside experienced colleagues in the International Tax team allows you to contribute towards maintaining up-to-date partner listings and profit allocations while assisting with transfer pricing matters or third-party invoice payments. Success in this role requires attention to detail, strong organisational skills, effective communication with stakeholders at all levels—and above all—a commitment to producing work of exceptional quality.

  • Prepare detailed information and schedules required to support non-US resident corporate, partnership, and individual partner tax filings in the USA, including partner profit share ratios, remuneration calculations, ledger analysis of tax payments, cash flow reconciliations, and other relevant analyses.
  • Maintain and reconcile comprehensive tax records and ledgers by overseeing federal and state income tax liabilities and payments as well as assisting with worldwide tax payments including withholding tax and reserves.
  • Assist the Partner Finance team with reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts for partners globally, ensuring accuracy in all financial data related to tax payments.
  • Support the Tax Processes & Controls team through regular reconciliation of partners’ current and historic tax reserves, preparing journals and conducting thorough data analysis.
  • Prepare, review, and ensure timely filing of all partner and partnership US tax returns, K-1s, computations, and other necessary documents for non-US resident entities and partners.
  • Monitor US tax reserves for non-US partners as well as non-US reserves for US-based partners throughout the year by analysing profit fluctuations and calculating quarterly prepayments due.
  • Oversee administrative US tax processes such as ITIN applications, information requests to partners, collating signatures for IRS forms, and coordinating compliance documentation.
  • Coordinate global tax compliance by preparing information required for firm-wide filings and partners’ returns; liaise with local finance teams or external preparers to meet all deadlines efficiently.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the International Tax team to maintain accurate global partner population listings and profit allocations; prepare DTR claims for UK resident partners regarding US liabilities.
  • Assist with additional responsibilities such as transfer pricing management, withholding tax oversight, payment of third-party adviser invoices, tracking spend against budget, supporting managers on ad hoc projects, and ensuring all compliance work meets the highest standards.

What you bring:

Your proven track record as an International Tax Adviser (USA) will showcase your ability to manage complex US federal and state compliance obligations efficiently—whether for individuals or partnerships. You bring a solid understanding of accounting fundamentals which enables you to maintain clear records across various ledgers while supporting reconciliation efforts globally. Advanced Excel proficiency empowers you to analyse large datasets accurately when calculating partner profit shares or preparing reports. Your experience working within professional partnerships—or exposure to personal/corporate taxation—adds valuable perspective when navigating multifaceted compliance requirements. Building authentic relationships comes naturally thanks to your collaborative mindset; you communicate proactively with stakeholders at every level ensuring clarity throughout each process. Enhancing client experience is central to your approach: you consistently deliver results on time while maintaining meticulous attention to detail. Your adaptability shines when assisting managers on special projects or responding swiftly during periods of change—always upholding exceptional standards regardless of task complexity.

  • Previous experience managing US federal and state tax compliance obligations for individuals or partnerships is essential for this role.
  • Part-qualified status (ACCA/CIMA/AAT/CTA/ATT/CPA) or willingness to study towards qualification is highly desirable; candidates with more or less experience may be considered if they demonstrate competency in outlined responsibilities.
  • Comprehension of basic accounting principles including journal entries is required to ensure accurate record-keeping across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Professional partnership experience is advantageous but not mandatory; personal or corporate tax exposure would be beneficial though not essential.
  • Advanced Excel skills are crucial for handling complex data analysis tasks related to partner profit shares, reconciliations, and reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to build authentic relationships through collaborative teamwork is vital when liaising with internal stakeholders or external advisers.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills enable you to convey information clearly—both proactively and responsively—to relevant parties involved in compliance processes.
  • A commitment to enhancing client experience by delivering timely results ensures that all compliance obligations are managed effectively without compromising quality.
  • Experience working within diverse teams fosters an inclusive approach that aligns with organisational values around respect and innovation.
  • Ability to assist managers on ad hoc projects demonstrates flexibility in adapting to new challenges while maintaining high standards across all deliverables.
