What you'll do:
As a Tax Compliance Officer based in Southampton, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient filing of UK tax compliance documents for alternative investment structures. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve preparing detailed working papers, calculating liabilities, completing returns, and maintaining up-to-date records using internal trackers. You will work collaboratively with both accountants and administrators, providing timely responses to client enquiries while adhering strictly to company policies. - Undertake tax reporting services for a diverse portfolio of alternative investment structures such as SPVs, Holding Companies, Management Companies, and Funds under supervision.
- Prepare comprehensive tax working papers for various investment structures to facilitate accurate tax reporting processes.
- Calculate tax liabilities and prepare detailed tax returns along with supporting documentation prior to submission for review by senior staff.
- Complete all required tax reporting tasks promptly and update internal trackers regularly to monitor progress and ensure deadlines are met.
- Perform analytical reviews of financial data, investigating any significant variances or jumps in tax figures compared to previous periods.
- Communicate relevant tax updates effectively to team members, ensuring everyone is informed about changes impacting compliance.
- Demonstrate strong working knowledge of tax regulations by progressing towards more complex cases as experience grows with different entities and accounting standards.
