SENIOR REGULATORY COMPLIANCE ADVISOR Contract: Permanent Salary: £46,575 DOE Location: Bury (Hybrid)

The Opportunity

We're seeking a Senior Regulatory Compliance Advisor to join a growing Risk & Compliance team in a specialist advisory capacity.

This role is centred around interpreting legislation, regulatory requirements and industry guidance, providing expert advice to stakeholders and ensuring products, documentation and business processes remain compliant.

We're particularly interested in candidates from Employment Tax, Employee Benefits, Consumer Credit, Automotive Finance, Regulatory Affairs or Legal Advisory backgrounds who are experienced in interpreting complex legislation and translating regulatory requirements into practical business solutions.

This is not a compliance monitoring, compliance testing, audit, complaints or conduct risk role. Instead, we're looking for someone who can provide technical regulatory advice, assess legislative requirements and support the business in navigating complex regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret and apply legislative and regulatory requirements across the business.
• Provide expert advice and guidance to stakeholders on regulatory obligations and business impacts.
• Assess the impact of legislative and regulatory change and support implementation activities.
• Draft, review and maintain policies, procedures, governance frameworks and regulatory documentation.
• Advise on regulatory documentation, disclosure requirements and governance matters.
• Support the development of compliant products, services and customer solutions.
• Deliver clear and practical guidance on complex legislative matters.
• Build effective relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.

About You

We'd particularly like to hear from candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:

Employment Tax & Benefits

• Employment Tax advisory or compliance.
• Employee Benefits regulation and governance.
• PAYE, P11D or benefits-related legislative requirements.
• Interpretation and application of HMRC guidance and tax legislation.

Consumer Credit & Financial Services

• Consumer Credit Act (CCA) requirements.
• Drafting, reviewing or advising on regulated credit agreements.
• Creditor obligations, including annual statements, notices and disclosure requirements.
• Understanding of regulated lending products and agreement structures.

Automotive Finance

• Personal Contract Purchase (PCP).
• Personal Contract Hire (PCH).
• Lease Purchase.
• Finance Lease.
• Understanding of the legislative and regulatory requirements associated with vehicle finance products and customer agreements.

Legal & Regulatory Advisory

• Regulatory Affairs.
• Legal or regulatory interpretation roles.
• Policy and governance development.
• Advising on legislative change and implementation.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

• Experience interpreting and applying legislation, regulations or statutory guidance.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess complex regulatory requirements.
• Experience providing technical advice and guidance to stakeholders.
• Excellent written communication and document drafting skills.
• The ability to translate technical legislation into practical business recommendations.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• A proactive, commercially minded and solution-focused approach.
