Operational Risk Manager

This role is a comprehensive operational risk position that combines reporting, framework oversight, and a strong emphasis on innovation and data visualization. The hiring organization is seeking a candidate with a broad understanding of operational risk who can work across key areas such as RCSA, risk appetite, KRIs (including refresh cycles), operational risk events, and the issue management lifecycle.

This is not a standard reporting role; instead, it focuses on enhancing how risk data is structured, analyzed, and presented. The successful candidate will work with large data sets, primarily in Excel, to analyze and package information in a way that resonates with senior stakeholders. A critical aspect of the role involves producing high-quality outputs for executive-level committees, ensuring clarity and precision in messaging.

Innovation and efficiency are central to this position. The organization is looking for someone who can challenge existing processes and improve reporting delivery methods, including leveraging tools like Tableau or AI to better visualize data and effectively communicate insights. Experience in reporting rationalization, process improvement, or broader project work will be highly advantageous.

The role also includes regular interaction with senior stakeholders and supporting governance processes such as conduct risk cycles, PRCSA, KRI monitoring, and tracking overdue actions or issues. It is a highly visible position that requires strong communication skills and the ability to influence across various business areas.

The ideal candidate will have approximately 7–8 years of experience, preferably from a central or head office operational risk function. While experience in wealth or asset management is slightly preferred, it is not mandatory. The recruitment process will involve two stages, with roles available in multiple locations and an expectation to work onsite four days per week.
