I am working with a well-established international energy trading company to help them find a Senior Market Risk Analyst for their London office.

The main focus of the role is to provide expert oversight and analysis of risk across LNG, power, and emissions markets, supporting both trading teams and senior management. The successful candidate will be expected to prepare and review regular reports on risk and profit-and-loss, ensuring that all trading activities are conducted within the company’s risk limits. This will involve not only monitoring existing positions but also helping to manage situations where limits are breached, and supporting the implementation of new or adjusted limits as required.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong quantitative background, ideally with previous experience in energy trading or financial services, and a thorough understanding of key risk metrics such as value-at-risk (VaR) and stress testing. Excellent analytical skills are essential, as is proficiency in Excel and VBA.
