Materials Planner

A leading manufacturing business based in South Manchester with excellent YOY growth are looking for a Materials Planner to join their team. As Materials Planner you will be responsible for ensuring continuity of supply to support production by engaging with your supplier base, monitoring service levels against SLAs and ensuring inventory is kept at optimum levels. German speaking language skills will be highly advantageous in this role.

About the role:

• Ensure timely delivery of materials from suppliers
• Provide solutions to supply chain/logistics challenges
• Oversee stock control and ensure accurate inventory management
• Prepare reports for the Operations Team
• Support additional business functions as required
• Build strong relationships with supply chain partners and internal colleagues
• Focus on operational performance management of key supply chain partners using a structured approach
• Actively manage and respond to live supply chain operational requirements
• Work with the procurement team to maintain purchase orders in line with latest BOM
• Maintain PIR & Source list for allocated suppliers

About the person:

• Previous experience working in a materials planning or direct procurement role
• SAP experience would be desirable
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
• The ability to drive change in a positive manner
• German speaking language skills would be highly advantageous
• Experience working within the rail, aerospace, defence or automotive industry would be preferred
