Senior Buyer

A leading manufacturer is seeking a Senior Buyer specialising in indirect procurement to join their team. This role offers you the opportunity to shape sourcing strategies, deliver measurable value through supplier partnerships, and support both operational and capital projects. You will be empowered to build strong relationships across the business, mentor junior colleagues, and drive continuous improvement in procurement processes. This is fully onsite until you have completed your probation.

What You'll Do:

As a Senior Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation’s approach to sourcing indirect materials and services. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve:

• Leading the sourcing and procurement of indirect materials and services.
• Managing comprehensive tendering activities including RFQs, supplier selection processes, onboarding procedures, and contract awards.
• Building strong partnerships with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver tailored sourcing solutions.
• Driving supplier performance as well as monitoring supplier spend, performance metrics, and contractual obligations.
• Negotiating commercial agreements with suppliers.
• Mentoring junior members of the procurement team.

What You Bring:

To excel in this role, you will bring:

• Significant experience in indirect procurement within manufacturing or a similar environment.
• A proven track record of conducting supplier negotiations and demonstrating contract management.
• Experience managing supplier relationships alongside monitoring performance metrics.
• Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP S/4HANA along with advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• MCIPS qualification or willingness to work towards this accreditation.

Please note this role is fully onsite, once you have completed your probationary period you will get to work from home one day per week. There is no negotiation around this requirement.
