Stock Controller

A well-established manufacturing organisation based in the Accrington area is looking to appoint an Stock Controller to support its fast-paced production and warehouse operation. This is a key role focused on maintaining stock accuracy, supporting production continuity, and driving improvements across inventory processes. Additionally, you will be required to provide logistics planning cover for shipping and deliveries teams when required.

About the role:

Reporting into the Warehouse Operations Manager, you will take ownership of inventory management across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods, ensuring stock integrity and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining accurate stock records across all material types within a manufacturing environment
  • Managing cycle counts, stock takes, and resolving discrepancies through root cause analysis
  • Monitoring stock levels to support production while minimising excess and obsolete inventory
  • Ensuring all stock movements are accurately recorded within ERP / WMS systems
  • Supporting material flow between warehouse and production to meet planning requirements
  • Assisting with logistics coordination, including shipment planning and transport bookings when required
  • Producing inventory reports and highlighting risks, trends, and improvement opportunities
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives relating to stock accuracy and warehouse efficiency

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in stock control or inventory management within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP systems and inventory processes
  • High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and process compliance
  • Confident working cross-functionally with production, planning, and logistics teams
  • Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement approach
