As part of a knowledgeable team, you will gain invaluable hands-on experience across all core areas of accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end processes. The organisation is committed to nurturing your professional growth, offering comprehensive training opportunities and encouraging further study towards recognised accounting qualifications. With flexible working opportunities and a culture that values teamwork, dependability, and personal development, this position offers the ideal platform to launch your career in finance. * Gain practical experience across all key areas of finance including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end activities while being supported by an experienced team. * Benefit from ongoing training opportunities and encouragement to pursue further professional qualifications such as AAT, ACCA or CIMA, ensuring your continued growth and development. * Enjoy working in a welcoming office environment in central London with flexible working opportunities and a culture that values collaboration, support, and knowledge sharing.

What You'll Do:

As a Junior Accounts Assistant, you will play an integral role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the finance department. Your responsibilities will span from processing invoices and expenses through to assisting with reconciliations, preparing basic reports, and contributing to month-end activities. You will be encouraged to engage proactively with both internal teams and external suppliers, resolving queries with professionalism and care. By maintaining accurate records within the accounting system and supporting improvements in financial procedures, you will help ensure the smooth running of all financial operations. Success in this role comes from your willingness to learn new skills quickly, your attention to detail when handling sensitive data, your ability to communicate clearly with others at all levels, and your commitment to developing your expertise through further study.

* Support the finance team by processing supplier invoices and employee expenses accurately and efficiently to ensure smooth financial operations.

* Assist with bank reconciliations and monitor cash transactions to maintain up-to-date records and identify any discrepancies promptly.

* Help maintain accurate records of all financial transactions within the accounting system to support robust financial management.

* Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve queries in a timely and considerate manner, fostering positive relationships.

* Contribute to month-end close activities by supporting journal postings and ensuring deadlines are met for reporting purposes.

* Prepare basic financial reports and summaries as required by senior members of the finance team to aid decision-making processes.

* Assist the Financial Controller in maintaining and improving financial procedures and documentation for enhanced efficiency and compliance.

* Undertake ad hoc finance-related tasks and projects as needed to support the wider objectives of the department.

* Collaborate closely with colleagues across the business to share information effectively and contribute to a harmonious working environment.

* Demonstrate flexibility by adapting to new systems or processes as required by changes within the department.

What You’ll Bring:

The ideal candidate for the Junior Accounts Assistant position brings not only technical competence but also excellent interpersonal abilities. Your proven experience may include academic achievements in finance or accounting alongside practical exposure—whether through internships or previous roles—in similar environments. You are known for your reliability when managing confidential information, your sensitivity towards others’ needs during collaborative projects, and your willingness to support colleagues whenever possible. Your natural curiosity drives you to seek out best practices while remaining open-minded about feedback or new ways of working. Above all else, your commitment to continuous improvement ensures that you thrive within an inclusive team setting where everyone’s contribution is valued.

* Excellent written and spoken English communication skills enabling you to interact effectively with colleagues at all levels as well as external partners.

* A degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience) providing you with foundational knowledge for success in this role.

* Strong IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel along with an aptitude for learning new finance systems quickly.

* A high level of attention to detail ensuring accuracy when processing financial data or preparing reports.

* Strong organisational skills allowing you to prioritise tasks effectively within a busy workload while meeting deadlines consistently.

* A confident yet polite approach when communicating with team members or challenging issues appropriately where necessary.

* A positive attitude combined with enthusiasm for learning new concepts or taking on additional responsibilities as they arise.

* Ambition and commitment towards pursuing further professional qualifications such as AAT, ACCA or CIMA demonstrating your dedication to long-term career progression.
