As a Conflicts Advisor, you will collaborate with colleagues across the globe, including teams in Sydney, Australia, and play a pivotal role in shaping conflict management processes and technology. What you'll do:

• Manage conflict checks on every new matter globally by analysing information sources and consulting with partners to resolve both legal and commercial conflicts of interest.
• Review new client and matter opportunities using internal and external data to advise partners worldwide on conflicts and information barrier management.
• Identify wider risks such as reputational issues, sanctions, financial crime, and commercial conflicts through comprehensive Matter Risk Assessment processes.
• Advise partners and lawyers regarding conflict check results, policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with risk management standards.
• Liaise closely with the Financial Crime team during Matter Risk assessments to ensure all potential risks are thoroughly evaluated.
• Maintain strong working relationships between the London team and the Sydney team by facilitating smooth handovers and ongoing communication.
• Actively contribute to building an effective, mutually supportive conflicts team that operates collaboratively across global offices.
• Influence the design and optimisation of conflicts management technology projects by providing feedback on process improvements.
• Engage regularly with General Counsel, Directors of New Business & Enterprise Risk, Practice Group Heads, Sector Leads, Client Relationship Partners, and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment on risk protocols.
• Support business development initiatives by advising on client approval processes and monitoring information barriers.

What you bring:

• A law degree or LPC qualification is required for this position as it forms the foundation for understanding legal regimes related to conflicts of interest.
• At least one year’s experience working in a professional services environment within this field is preferred; however candidates with more or less experience who demonstrate required competencies will be considered.
• A deep understanding of legal frameworks governing conflicts of interest and confidential information is essential for success in this role.
• Exceptional research skills combined with strong analytical abilities enable you to identify risks quickly and accurately when reviewing new matters.
• Excellent commercial awareness allows you to assess potential reputational or financial crime risks associated with client engagements.
• The ability to prioritise workloads efficiently ensures timely completion of conflict checks even under pressure or tight deadlines.
• Meticulous attention to detail guarantees accuracy in all aspects of risk assessment and advisory work.
• Clear verbal, written, and face-to-face communication skills are vital for engaging effectively with staff at every level within the organisation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft programmes as well as familiarity with research resources supports your daily workflow requirements.
• A collaborative mindset enables you to work well within global teams while contributing positively towards communal goals.
