An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Anti-Money Laundering Analyst to join a highly respected legal firm in the heart of London. This role offers you the chance to become an integral part of a collaborative Compliance team, where your expertise will directly contribute to upholding the highest standards of regulatory integrity and client trust.

Role responsibilities:

  • Independently conduct comprehensive client due diligence checks and AML risk assessments on new clients, ensuring all processes align with internal policies and best practice guidelines.
  • Advise lawyers and secretaries on appropriate documentation required for client onboarding, providing clear guidance on compliance expectations.
  • Identify high-risk clients through diligent analysis, escalating concerns to senior compliance officers and assisting with enhanced due diligence procedures as needed.
  • Offer practical advice and responsive assistance to legal professionals regarding AML obligations, fostering strong interdepartmental relationships built on trust and reliability.
  • Carry out thorough financial sanctions screenings and adverse media searches, promptly escalating any findings that may impact the firm’s risk profile.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the firm’s risk management frameworks, actively participating in relevant training sessions and industry events to support continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • A degree in law or a related discipline is desirable, providing you with foundational knowledge relevant to AML practices within legal services.
  • At least two years’ experience working in an anti-money laundering capacity at a law firm or similar professional services environment is essential for success in this role.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with AML monitoring tools, screening solutions, and risk assessment methodologies ensures you can hit the ground running.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills enable you to convey complex information clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
